Q: Now that the women’s first-game nerves were out of the way, how did you prepare for the game against the Steelers?
A: We talked a lot about focusing throughout the game and playing our best football on each play. We had a little wobble at the end of the first half but then played very strongly throughout the second half. Throughout practice we kept focusing on fundamental details of the game.
Q: With touchdowns scored by a variety of players, are you able to pick a few stand out plays on the offensive side of the ball?
A: Hanna, Rose, Elsa all had outstanding days rushing the ball and Siru again made plays in the passing game. The offensive line had a huge day in making other players successful.
Q: Given you coached women’s D1 before, what are the biggest differences in preparing for the two formats of the game (11s and 7s)?
A: They are almost different sports that use the same skills. The rules in the 7s league are so different from 11s that you have to start from 0, especially offensively. The flip side to that is that if a team spends time really getting into the details of the rules, and how they are different from 11s, you can capitalise on some of the imbalances that are present.
Q: What focus does the team have ahead of the Wolverines away game on Sunday?
A: Like every game, we are going to just try and play our best football on each rep and see where that leaves us at the end of the game.

Q: Viime viikolla pelattiin Steelersiä vastaan kuopiossa ja peli päättyi 12-70 crocoille. Mitä puolustuksessa tehtiin oikein, kun piste-ero oli noin suuri?
A: Kommunikaatio toimi erittäin hyvin, pelaajat osasivat itse jo päätellä onko mikä peli tulossa ja osasivat auttaa tosiaan.
Q: Jäikö jotain kehitettävää loppukautta ajatellen?
A: Aika paljon on flikat oppinu, miten peli toimii. Pientä hiomista pallonkantamiseen ja varovaisuutta, ettei lippuja tulisi.
Q: Jäikö joku yksittäinen pelaaja tai onnistuminen mieleen, minkä nostaisit esille?
A: Anniina Hietala pelasi aivan erinomaisesti puolustuksessa. Kovaa peliä ja oli tärkeä pelaaja kentällä.
